NAVAIR is dedicated to providing a safe, accommodating, inclusive work environment for a workforce as diverse as the nation we serve. Individuals with disabilities (IWD) make up an important and growing part of our team. In fact, NAVAIR has lead the Navy for five years in IWD hires. We are committed to implementing and expanding our IWD hiring initiatives, education within our organization and to constantly lowering barriers to work. Some of our ongoing efforts and programs include:

  • Non-competitive hiring authorities
  • The Wounded Warrior (WW) Program
  • Disability Mentoring Days and Disability Employment Awareness Month activities
  • A dedicated IWD Barrier Removal Team
  • Full time IWD Recruitment Program Administrator, ASL interpreter, National Disability Program Manager, WW and IWD Executive Champion, WW Program Manager and Recruitment Team on staff
  • Veteran support groups
  • Meet and greets and feedback forms used to identify barriers to full employment
  • IWD/WW hiring and support events
  • Assistive technology training

Many of our positions require degrees in engineering, math, science or business. We also have non-degree positions in clerical, technical and logistical fields.
