These officers focus primarily on enforcing all motor vehicle laws.  In addition to traffic responsibilities State Troopers may be called to assist during major incidents or occurrences in Iowa - such as prison riots, labor disputes and natural disasters such as tornadoes, and flooding.  The Iowa State Patrol is composed of four areas with sixteen district offices throughout the state.

In addition to traffic and motor vehicle enforcement the Iowa State Patrol has developed several specialized units to assist in completing our overall mission.  We invite you to learn more about the Iowa State Patrol as you explore our web site.
