Winter Weight Allowance

Under section 30(2) of M.R. 575/88, beginning on December 1 of every year and ending on the last day of February of the ensuing year, where the applicable fees have been paid to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, the maximum gross axle weight as set out in Schedule H of M.R. 575/88 is increased by 10%. (See Chart for Examples).

Note: Steering axles, tridem axle groups and the statutory maximum gross vehicle weight for each highway class are NOT eligible for this increase.
