Professional Development Program

How to Apply

All vacancies for the Professional Development Program (PDP) are posted on USAJOBS.gov. Applicants must have (or open) an account on USAJOBS and apply online prior to the closing date for each vacancy.

Most PDP vacancies are advertised in February and September of each year. To apply, search USAJOBS for the phrase “FHWA Pathways Recent Graduate”, and apply online to the vacancy of your interest.

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Graduated within two year of applying to the PDP with a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Be mobile to work anywhere in the USA
