The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and many other agencies and organizations, as well as local and federal officials continue to provide additional resources and personnel to support the recovery efforts in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Hurricane Matthew has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate and abandon their homes. Many are still unable to return to their residences due to ongoing flooding from swelled rivers.
