West Point Family Housing, Single Soldier Housing and Lodging

Welcome to U.S. Army Garrison West Point, the oldest continually occupied garrison in the United States. General George Washington considered West Point to be the most important strategic postion in America and established fortifications here in 1778. Because of this, USAG West Point housing is special and distinct.

USAG West Point housing is comprised of three entities; Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) which provides oversight for all housing to include Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH)/Barracks, Housing Services Office (HSO) which services Off Post Housing and West Point Family Homes which services On Post Housing. West Point Family Homes is owned by Balfour Beatty Communities.

All incoming military personnel, after signing in for duty and in-processing with the Military Personnel Division, will report to the Housing Services Office (HSO) for on-post or off post housing. Personnel will then be referred to the appropriate office for the desired Housing. West Point Family Homes for Family housing on-post or the HSO Office for off-post housing and UPH/Barracks.

Off Post Housing: HSO provides off-post housing assistance, referrals and information on the local area to military members, their Families and Department of Defense civilian personnel. The HSO Office maintains lists of local community rental properties, as well as information on homes for purchase. Assistance is provided prior to or upon arrival to West Point. Single Soldier Housing: West Point Family Homes has two apartment buildings that are used for unaccompanied officer or enlisted personnel (E-7 and above). Sergeant (E-5) and below single Soldiers are required to live in the Barracks.

On Post Housing: West Point Family Homes is the public-private partner under the Army's Residential Communities Initiative program. West Point Family Homes performs all the traditional Family housing functions: assignments, terminations, operations and maintenance.
