Handheld, Manpack and Small-form Fit

Develop, produce and field affordable advanced networking tactical radio systems that meet the Handheld, Manpack, and Small Form Fit (HMS) requirements of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations Command (SOCOM) while maintaining interoperability with current force systems. Provide Joint interoperable connectivity to the tactical edge/most disadvantaged Warfighter with an on the move, at the halt and stationary Line of Sight (LOS)/Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) capability for mounted and dismounted personnel and platforms.

Description

The HMS program provides the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force with a family of software-programmable and hardware-configurable digital radios that increase interoperability, flexibility and adaptability to support tactical communications. The radios include the Rifleman Radio, which is a lightweight, rugged body-worn radio that transmits voice and data simultaneously and the Manpack Radio, a two-channel radio that is mounted in vehicles or used for dismounted operations.
