Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. MacNeil
Commander, 30th Signal Battalion-Hawaii
Lieutenant Colonel Kevin MacNeil was raised in the military. He enlisted in the Army in 1991, where he served as a Telecommunication Specialist in South Korea and Fort Lewis, Washington. In 1993, after selection for the Army Green to Gold program, he enrolled in ROTC at Campbell University, North Carolina. He graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.
During Kevin's first assignment to 11th Signal Brigade, at Fort Huachuca, Arizona he served as a Platoon Leader, Battalion Maintenance Officer, Liaison Officer to the 54th Signal Battalion at Camp Doha, Kuwait, as well as a Brigade S3 Operations and Plans Officer. Following the Signal Captain’s Career Course he was assigned to the 1st Armored Division G6 Operations where he served as the Task Force Falcon (Rear) G6, at Camp Able Sentry, Macedonia and as an Operations and Plans Officer in Wiesbaden, Germany. In May 2002 he assumed command of Charlie Company, 440th Signal Battalion. On the 7th of April 2003 he led the Charlie Company Cobras into Iraq where they provided direct support to the V Corps Main Command Post and other CPs in Baghdad. Following command he was assigned to the Pentagon as an Executive Support Officer to the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
After the completion of Intermediate Level Education, he was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. While assigned to the I Corps G6 from 2008-2010 he returned to Iraq and served as the MNC-I C6 Chief of Operations later becoming the USF-I J6 Lead Planner. In 2010 he transitioned from I Corps to the 51st Signal Battalion where he served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer until 2012. MAJ MacNeil returned to the Pentagon, this time to serve in the Joint Staff J6 as Executive Officer to the J6 Director.

LTC MacNeil is married. He and his wife have one spoiled dog and a sailboat.
