About EEP

Emergency Evacuation Program (EEP), formerly Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO), is the ordered (mandatory) or authorized (voluntary) departure of civilians and nonessential military personnel from Japan (including Okinawa) to a designated safe haven, typically within the United States. The Department of State (DOS) recommends an evacuation and U.S. Army Japan coordinates the execution of EEP.

The purpose of these Web Pages is to share information and ensure those in U.S. Army in Japan is prepared for an evacuation. For more information or to recommend a change, please contact the EEP coordinator at 263-4848.
