In Transit Emergencies

There is always the possibility of needing emergency assistance while in transit. The following telephone numbers should be accessible: unit commander, and sponsor. The American Red Cross is always available for emergency aid. Dial Toll Free: 1-877-272-7337.
Army Emergency Relief can provide financial assistance to meet unforeseen, valid emergency needs and may be reached at 978-796-3023.

Billeting

Billets are available only for personnel training at Devens.

Financial Preparedness

Guidance and help in the financial arena can be obtained at Army Community Service, Devens, to Service members, familes, retirees and DA Civilians. Refer to In-Transit Assistance.

POV In-Bound Shipments

  One privately owned vehicle will be shipped at government expense to or from an overseas area when permitted (some overseas areas restrict government shipment of POVs). The entitlement to ship an otherwise eligible POV from overseas to the United States is not dependent on whether a POV was shipped to the overseas area. The entitlement to ship a POV to the overseas area is separate. For the purpose of this shipment, a POV is a vehicle owned by the member or a dependent of the member (member must show proof of ownership/registration or lease agreement). A Power of Attorney or authorization letter will be needed if someone other than the owner picks up the vehicle.

Only one POV can be imported tax free for military or DOD civilians under PCS orders. Call ACS for specific information. Information can also be found at https://www.pcsmypov.com.
