COL Doug Lowrey is an Oklahoma native. In 1994 he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer after graduating from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma Reserve Officer Training Corps.

His previous assignments include: Infantry Platoon Leader , Rifle Platoon Leader, Support Platoon Leader and Headquarters, Headquarters Company Executive Officer, 15th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Georgia; S4 (Logistics Officer), Brigade Adjutant, Rifle Company Commander, Headquarters, Headquarters Company Commander, S1 (Personnel Officer), 1st Iron Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; Contingency Contracting Officer, Executive Officer, 901st Contingency Contracting Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; Executive Officer, Army Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Executive Officer, Expeditionary Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Commander, 901st Contingency Contracting Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas, and Deputy Chief of Staff Operations G-3 for the U.S. Army Contracting Command.

His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, and the Army Command and General Staff College. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School and completed the Army War College Fellowship at University of Texas – Austin.

His military awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal and Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He is authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge and Airborne wings.
