Major General Timothy M. McKeithen assumed duties as the Deputy Director, Army National Guard, National Guard Bureau, Washington, District of Columbia on 4 September 2015. As Deputy Director he guides the formulation, development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Army National Guard, a force of more than 350,000 Citizen Soldiers in the 50 States, three Territories and the District of Columbia.

Prior to his current assignment, General Timothy M. McKeithen is the Assistant Chief of Staff, G4, United States Army Central, Third Army, C4 Combined Joint Task Force Land Components Command, and CJ4 Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve. Synchronizes, plans and executes USARCENT/CFLCC/CJTF theater logistics operations; Title 10 and ARFOR sustainment Joint/Coalition forces throughout the USCENTCOM AOR/CJOA: develops and implements sustainment policies CONPLANs/OPLANS: overseas deployment, redeployment, staging, onward movement, and sustainment for +200,000 US, Coalition and civilian forces; maintains accountability and readiness of equipment valued over $100 billion and over $14 billion in contracts: routinely coordinates with DoS, JCS, CENTCOM, TRANSCOM, Army Staff, Army Material Command, and Defense Logistics Agency and others that enables the integration of material fielding, logistics, sustainment, acquisition, and technology in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.

General McKeithen received his commission from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, where he was named a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1985. He was deployed in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm/Shield as Commander, 549th Quartermaster Company, 11th Battalion, Fort Story, Virginia and Commander, 228th Forward Support Battalion, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He later served as the Reset Division Chief, Headquarters United States Army Material Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Deputy to the Assistants to the Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff for National Guard and Reserve Matters, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia. General McKeithen most recently served as Director of Logistics, J-4, Headquarters North American Aerospace Defense Command.
