Fire Department

The Fort McCoy Fire is an Internationally Accredit Agency. The Department protects and serves the installation community. The department is aligned under the Directorate of Emergency Services and is staffed by Department of the Army civilian employees who serve as firefighters, fire officers and fire inspectors.

On average, the department responds to more than 900 calls for service each year. Response scenarios include structural fires, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, auto accidents, aircraft mishaps, wildland fires, technical rescues, alarm activations and more. The department operates out of two strategically located fire stations, which are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Fire Station One

Station One, located in the Public Safety Center, building 1681, within the main cantonment area, is prepared to deploy fire engines, ambulances, command vehicles, wildland firefighting apparatus, hazardous materials response equipment, a technical rescue trailer, a water-based emergency trailer and a heavy rescue squad. Station One primarily responds to emergency calls within Fort McCoy's cantonment area and North Post as the first-arriving emergency unit for the given response type.

Fire Station Two

Station Two, located on Fort McCoy's South Post adjacent to the airfield, is prepared to deploy fire engines, aircraft firefighting vehicles, a command vehicle, a water tender and wildland firefighting apparatus. Station Two responds to emergency calls on South Post, to include the Family housing area, training sites and the Sparta / Fort McCoy Airport as the first-arriving emergency unit for the given response type.
