Fort Hood police conduct multi-incident exercise

Fort Hood police conduct multi-incident exercise

Employees from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service joined a Directorate of Emergency Services multi-incident training exercise Oct. 12 to conduct an active-shooter scenario at the new Military Clothing Sales location in the old Post Exchange building.

The two groups teamed together in an effort to evaluate AAFES's emergency reaction plan, and to conduct more robust training for the multi-faceted DES organization.

For the DES, the active shooter scenario was just the beginning of a multiple incident response exercise.

"We started planning with an active shooter scenario," said Maj. Timothy Heisler, the Fort Hood chief of police. "Then we wanted to see how we reacted to multiple incidents at the same time, and how that stressed our resources."
