Scheduling Medical Appointments
To schedule a medical appointment within the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center system of health, please call the Appointment Line at 254-288-8888 or toll free 800-305-6421 between the hours of 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on Federal Holidays).
Did you know that Darnall Health Care System offers a Nurse Advice Line? By calling 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273); Option 1, you can address any medical question 24 hours a day, seven days a week for yourself or a loved one and receive advice on what to do. No question is too small or large. They can provide self care advice, help determine whether you need an appointment or recommend emergency room care. Give them a call at 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273); Option 1 and let them help you with your medical concerns.
You may also schedule appointments online at www.tricareonline.com. Beneficiaries may access TRICARE On Line with a DFAS MyPay PIN, Common Access Card or by creating a Department of Defense Self Service account. Registration is quick and easy!
Access To Care (ATC) Options, Standards and Definitions:
Emergency Care: Beneficiaries seeking emergency care should proceed to the nearest emergency room or call 911 (or other local emergency assistance number) for immediate medical attention.
Urgent (Acute) Care (e.g. ear ache, high fever):
ATC Standard – 24 hours
Beneficiaries seeking urgent care may schedule an appointment with their Primary Care Manager or Primary Care Manager Team. If appointments are not available, beneficiaries will be seen by an Urgent Care Team Member in the Emergency Department.
Routine Care (e.g. follow–up care, allergies, disease management):
ATC Standard – 7 calendar days
Wellness and Health Promotion Services (e.g. physical exams, well women exam):
ATC Standard – 28 calendar days
Referrals for Specialty Care Services:
ATC Standard – 28 calendar days
