The Los Angeles District supports the development of small businesses and maximizes opportunities for qualified small, small disadvantage, women-owned, veteran-owned, services-disable veteran owned, and Historically Black College and Universities/Minority Institutions to participate in federal procurements, thereby ensuring that a broad base of contractors provides supplies and services in support of the Corps of Engineers mission and strengthens our Nation’s economic development. Small businesses are a continuing source of vitality for American economy and a critical part of the Corps’ procurement process.
The Office of Small Business Program, Small Business Specialist for the Los Angeles District primary role is to "aid, assist and protect, insofar as is possible, the interests of small business concerns in order to preserve free competitive enterprise, to ensure that a fair proportion of the total procurement buys and contracts of subcontracts for products and services for the government, be placed with small business enterprises.”
