Dr. Ashish Bagai joined DARPA in March 2012 as a Program Manager in the Tactical Technology Office.
Prior to joining DARPA, he spent 13 years at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation where he was Principal Engineer – most recently with Preliminary Design, Systems Engineering, and earlier with Aerodynamics, Engineering Sciences.
At Sikorsky, he served as technical lead for rotor systems, including methodology development and blade manufacturing technologies. He holds six patents and worked on the aerodynamic design of the X2 main rotor blades.
He has served as the Forum Technical Chair for the American Helicopter Society, chaired the Aerodynamics Committee, and served on the History Committee. Before moving to Sikorsky he worked at Boeing, Helicopters Division.
Dr. Bagai holds Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
