Privacy Impact Assessment Signature Routing Guidance

The following provides the proper routing for Navy and Marine Corps Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). The last two signature blocks on the DoD PIA Template (DD FORM 2930 NOV 2008) are reserved for (1) the DON Privacy Act Program Manager (DNS-36) or USMC Privacy Act/FOIA Officer and (2) the DON CIO.
Navy Command Routing:
- Program Manager/System Owner
- Information Assurance Manager/Official
- Privacy Coordinator/Official
- Any other Command Level Official as desired
Note: Once the above signatures are obtained, forward to the DON CIO.
DON CIO Routing:
- DON Privacy Act Program Manager (DNS-36)
- DON CIO
DON CIO will post summary on DON CIO web site, provide signed copy to Navy POC, update DITPR-DON, and forward to DoD. DoD will forward PIAs that collect PII on the public to OMB.
HQMC Routing:
- Program Manager/System Owner
- Information Assurance Manager
- HQMC Privacy Act Officer
- HQMC Senior Information Assurance Official
- DON CIO
DON CIO will post summary on DON CIO web site, provide signed copy to HQMC POC, update DITPR-DON, and forward to DoD. DoD will forward PIAs that collect PII on the public to OMB.
