Excellence in Practice Awards
The Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 Excellence in Practice Awards, which recognize the top performers in DoD travel for the value they bring and the services they provide to their travel program. The recipients of The Champion and The Elite receive award certificates and are recognized on the DTMO website and the Defense Travel Dispatch.

About the Awards
DTMO designed the Excellence in Practice Awards to recognize DoD travel professionals who have excelled in travel program management and have successfully addressed issues with exemplary professional skill, creativity, and resourcefulness. Winners selected, demonstrate an exceptional level of service that results in a more efficient and effective travel program.
Excellence in Practice Award winners are nominated by fellow colleagues. Awards are presented to individuals in the following categories:
- The Champion recognizes a Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) who goes above and beyond in providing mentoring and training to their organization
- The Elite recognizes a local help desk team whose superior efforts result in continuous improvement and outstanding customer care
- The Icon recognizes a major command or agency whose strategies and tactics enhance their travel program capabilities for their subordinate sites
Recipients receive award certificates and are recognized on the DTMO website and in the Defense Travel Dispatch.
