NISP Library
DSS administers and implements the defense portion of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) pursuant to Executive Order 12829. DSS Industrial Security Representatives are spread across the U.S. in four geographic regions. They provide oversight and assistance to cleared contractor facilities and assist the organization's management and Facility Security Officers in ensuring the protection of national security information. DSS has responsibility for approximately 13,500 cleared contractor facilities. The following material provides relevant information on the oversight of the NISP.
