The Coast Guard's Work-Life Program is managed by the Office of Work-Life, a Headquarters program manager staff within the Health, Safety and Work-Life Directorate, reporting to the Assistant Commandant for Human Resources. This staff is responsible for establishing, developing and promulgating Work-Life policy and interpreting program standards for Coast Guard-wide implementation. The overall objective is to support the well-being of active duty, reserve and civilian employees and family members.
The Coast Guard Subsidy Program is in an administrative transition between GSA and USDA effective 1 October 2016. This change will have no impact on the services currently provided to families, but all of the forms and processes are being rebranded from GSA to USDA. GSA has already notified all of the families currently enrolled in the program of the change. |
Strengthening Our Military
Families: On December 8, 2010, the President approved the Presidential Study Directive report on "Strengthening our Military Families: Meeting America's Commitment." The President, First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, the Uniformed Service Chiefs (including the Coast Guard), and other government leaders joined together in a long term commitment to ensure our military members and their families have the resources they need to be their best.
