The Admissions Process to the Toulouse Graduate School is divided into a process for U.S Citizens and a different process for International Students. Please choose the one below that applies to you.
U.S. Citizen Process
Admission to a doctoral program in business is a three-step process:
Admission to the University through the Toulouse Graduate School
Admission to the College of Business
Departmental Admission
Step 1: Admission to the University through the Toulouse Graduate School
Admission to the University through the Toulouse Graduate School (TGS) consists of submitting an application, transcripts, official GMAT/GRE scores and an application fee. To be admitted to the TGS there is a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a bachelor degree and a 3.5 on a Masters degree.
Application
Please apply to the TGS online at www.applytexas.org.
On the application, you will be asked to select a College of Business concentration. When you select a College of Business concentration as your degree on your application, a copy of your application, transcripts, and GMAT/GRE test scores are automatically forwarded to the College of Business Ph.D. Program & Research Office.
The TGS will send you an email and a pin number to check your application status *ONLY online at: www.my.unt.edu. You will need to activate your EUID with the pin number and click on Admissions Status. *ONLY reflects the TGS requirements that have been submitted. You still have to meet the College of Business requirements in Step 2.

Official GMAT/GRE Scores
The College of Business prefers the GMAT be taken but will accept the GRE if it has already been taken. There is no minimum score required and scores must be less than 5 years old.
The GMAT is US $250.00 and is due upon scheduling an appointment by calling 1-800-717-GMAT or online at: www.mba.com.
To avoid delays in processing, have the Official GMAT or GRE scores sent to: The Toulouse Graduate School by Pearson Vue. The UNT school code for the GRE is 6481. The UNT school code for the GMAT is 6DP-8M-55. The UNT school code for the MAT is 2255
Application Fee
Submit the $75 application fee payable by cash, check, credit card, or money order to: The Toulouse Graduate School (see address above under Transcripts.)
Deadlines
Admission process begins January 15 and continues until the program is filled.
Step 2: Admission to the College of Business
You must be admitted to the Toulouse Graduate School at the University of North Texas. Your application for admission, if complete, is then forwarded to the College of Business. A Supplementary Information Sheet (Form A) including the additional supporting documentation listed below is required. This information should be submitted at the same time as you apply for admission to the Graduate School. See below for address.
- Three Doctoral Applicant Evaluation Forms and/or three letters of recommendation from college professors or professional colleagues who are familiar with your academic record. (Form B)
- Your proposed major area.
- A short "Statement of Purpose" setting forth your reasons for pursuing doctoral study, personal objectives and career plans.
- A current vita.

Admission to the College of Business Ph.D. program is very competitive; therefore, satisfaction of the minimum standards does not guarantee admission to a degree program. Minimum admission standards of the College of Business are as follows.
Step 3: Admission to the Department
Admission to each major area is based on the student's academic record, work experience, and expressed "Statement of Purpose" or personal objectives. Only students who, in the judgment of the Graduate Faculty of each major area, show high promise of academic achievement will be admitted. Satisfying the quantitative criteria does not guarantee admission. The Graduate Faculty of each major area may establish additional and/or higher requirements specific to their department.
The appropriate departmental committee will evaluate the student's application for admission on the basis of the department standards, indicate on the CoB Admission Form (Form B) whether the student is Approved for Admission, Denied Admission (with reason) or Recommended for Provisional Admission (Category II) and return the completed form to the Ph.D. Program & Research Office, BLB 201.
The Director of Ph.D. Program & Research will send an admission decision letter to those students selected by the appropriate departmental committee. A copy of the letter will be provided to the respective departmental Ph.D. Coordinator. The letter will specify that the applicant has 15 days in which to respond to the admission offer. An applicant's failure to accept an offer within 15 days will result in a second letter indicating withdrawal of the offer.
Transfer of Programs
A student admitted by the College of Business and an academic department who wishes to transfer into a different major area must meet the admission requirements of the newly selected major area. A student desiring a transfer must request admission to the selected major area, in writing, via the Graduate School and the Director of Phd Programs & Research. Approval of his/her admission will be determined under the normal departmental admission requirements and procedures.
Students may change their major area only with the consent of the CoB Doctoral Program Committee and the graduate faculties of the respective area(s). A student will not be permitted to change a major area after he/she has failed one qualifying examination.
International Admission
Admission to a Doctoral Program is a four-step process:

Step 1: Admission to the University through the University of North Texas International Program
All international graduate students must be admitted to the University through the University of North Texas International Program. Admission requirements consists of an international application for admission, proof of financial support, transcripts for undergraduate degree requirements, proof of English language proficiency, and an application fee.
Application
International prospective students may apply through the International Studies and Programs(ISP) Office online at: http://www.international.unt.edu/admissions/apply/. The application fee of $75 may be payed online on the International admission application.
On the application, you will be asked to select a College of Business concentration. If you select a College of Business concentration as your degree on your application, then a copy of your application, transcripts, and GMAT/GRE test scores are automatically forwarded to the College of Business Ph.D. Program and Research Office.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
The English Language Proficiency Requirements must be met through the International Program in addition to the TOEFL with a score of at least 550 (paper version) , 213 (computer version) or 79 on the internet based test for the University Requirements.
Financial Requirements and Your Guarantee of Funds
Proof of your finances are required by U.S. government regulations. Required Funds are listed at: international.unt.edu
Step 2: Admission to the Toulouse Graduate School
After the International Admissions office receives an application and verifies other requirements, all materials are forwarded to the Toulouse Graduate School (TGS). The Toulouse Graduate School will check transcripts for minimum GPA requirements of 3.0 on a bachelor degree and a 3.5 on a Masters degree. They will also note GMAT/GRE scores and forward this information to the College of Business Ph.D. Program and Research Office for review.
