Three Mean Green Soccer Players Will Take Part In December Commencement

DENTON - Three Mean Green soccer players will receive their bachelor's degrees this weekend at the University of North Texas commencement ceremonies. Leah Cox, Molly Grisham and Jackie Kerestine were among the 33 student-athletes who were honored at a reception on Wednesday afternoon in the club level of Apogee Stadium.

Cox, Grisham and Kerestine were all four-year letterwinners for the Mean Green. Cox finished her athletic eligibility in 2014, while Grisham and Kerestine were part of the 2015 senior class. Cox was a part of four conference championships, Grisham won five championships and Kerestine collected six championship rings.

Cox will graduate this weekend with a degree in accounting. She plans on taking graduate classes in accounting through this summer and will sit for her CPA in the fall. She will begin full-time employment this January as a tax accountant.

Grisham will also start a full-time job in January. She will be a human resources generalist at Ericsson. Grisham interned with Ericsson this past summer. Grisham graduates with a degree in organizational behavior and human resource management. She received Conference USA Second-Team All-Academic honors this year as well as third-team all-conference honors.

Kerestine is graduating with a social sciences degree and plans on getting her teaching certificate next year. She hopes to become a high school history teacher. Kerestine leaves North Texas as one of the most decorated soccer players; she broke nearly every goalkeeping record in school history. She was named first-team all-conference this past fall.
