Holden And Grisham Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

DENTON - Two days after they were both recognized for their on-field performances, junior Rachel Holden and senior Molly Grisham were rewarded for their work in the classroom. The junior forward and senior defender both received Conference USA Second-Team All-Academic honors.

Holden is a kinesiology major with a 3.5 grade-point average. She was a first-team C-USA All-Academic honoree last year as well as a C-USA Academic Medal Winner in 2013-14. She was named to the North Texas Academic Dean's List the last two years.

The forward was named C-USA Co-Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Mean Green with 11 goals. She led the conference with six goals in league play, scoring a goal in four-straight games, with two of them game-winners. Holden was tied for the lead in the conference and ranked nationally with five game-winning goals.

Grisham is an organizational behavior and human resource management major with a 3.705 GPA. She was named to the North Texas Academic Dean's List as a freshman, sophomore and junior. She was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a sophomore and junior.

Grisham is a senior co-captain and was named third-team all-conference for her play in the defense this year. She scored the game-winning goal in the team's opening win of the conference tournament against WKU. It was her third goal this season. Grisham has started all 21 games for North Texas and anchored a backline that held opponents to just nine goals all season, a conference low.
