COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The North Texas women's basketball team faces perhaps its toughest challenge of the year tonight as they face the seventh ranked team in the country on the road in Texas A&M. The Mean Green is looking to hand the Aggies their first defeat of the season and end their own two-game losing streak. Tip time from Reed Arena is at 7 p.m. and the game can be heard on 88.1 FM KNTU.

North Texas and Texas A&M will meet for the 15th time in series history on Tuesday night. The Aggies lead the overall series with North Texas 10-4. Texas A&M has won the last three meetings in the series including the last time the two teams met on December 18, 2006, a 70-52 win for the Aggies.

The last Mean Green win in the series was the first game of the season in 1998. North Texas won 77-72 with help from current assistant coach Jalie Johnson in the win. The Mean Green is 1-8 on the road against Texas A&M. This will be only the fourth meeting between

Senior Brittney James vaulted herself into the top 10 all-time in points at North Texas with 21 against Houston. James, who topped the 20-point mark for the seventh time in her career against the Cougars, climbed to ninth all-time with 1,048 career points. With 13 more points she will pass Nicole Thomas for eighth all-time.

James needs just six more 3-pointers to become only the third player in school history to hit 100 3-pointers in a career at North Texas. James is fourth all-time on the career list with 94. Not since Nicole Thomas hit 159 3-pointers during her four-year career from 1998-02 has a North Texas player hit as many 3-pointers as James has during her career.

Freshman Jasmine Godbolt notched her second career double-double against SMU with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Ironically those are the same numbers Godbolt had when she recorded her first career double-double against UTPA. Godbolt was able to top her career-high of 16 points against Houston with 18, but was one rebound shy of her third double-double of the season.
