DENTON (4/23/07) - North Texas men's basketball head coach Johnny Jones will throw out the first pitch tonight at the Texas Rangers baseball game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Football student-athlete Maurice Holman will be behind the plate to catch the ceremonial first pitch.
Tonight is the annual Mean Green Night with the Texas Rangers. The Rangers host the Seattle Mariners and the first pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
Jones led the the Mean Green men's squad to its best season in school history. North Texas piled up a school-record 23 victories while winning its first Sun Belt Conference Championship, and advanced to its first NCAA Tournament since 1988.
