The scope of this study is an 18-mile length of IH 45 North from FM 1960 to Loop 336 South.

Current Conditions

The existing IH 45 (N) is a multi-lane divided facility typically consisting of 3-lane frontage roads, 8 mainlanes (four in each direction), 10 ft inside shoulders and 12 ft outside shoulders. 

Proposed Improvements

• Utilizing the existing concrete pavement in the center of the mainlanes for two HOV diamond lanes (one in each direction)
• Minor widening of IH 45 (N) at four existing overpass locations
• Restriping of the freeway
