Training Classroom at the Texas Transportation Institute

TTI employees at a Delta-T leadership training course.

TTI employs over 650 professionals, students and support staff from over 30 different countries. TTI people are known for their credibility, technical expertise and reputation for objectivity. Many are recognized national and international leaders in their fields. The TTI program, in addition to providing useful research results, is also instrumental in training and educating the workforce of the future.

TTI researchers contribute to the growth of the transportation profession by participating in, and leading, hundreds of local, state and national organizations. Around 50 TTI researchers lead or serve on Transportation Research Board (TRB) committees. Since the inception of the TRB Cooperative Research Program, TTI has been the largest participant in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP). The Institute has led and participated in cooperative research programs in transit, aviation, freight and hazardous materials.

With expertise in areas such as engineering, planning, economics, policy, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, computer science and the social sciences, TTI researchers serve as objective transportation experts. They provide an important resource to local, state and national agencies and groups — helping them make informed policy decisions and solve transportation challenges.
