I am a visitor to the UNT Campus; do I need to pay for Parking?

Yes, visitors may park at our meters, purchase a visitor permit, or park at one of the two public parking garages, Highland Street Garage and Union Circle Garage. Click here for visitor information.

 


If I am a Student/Faculty/Staff member without a parking permit, where can I park on campus?

A day pass is available at the UNT Parking office for $5 per day, parking meters on both Highland and West Sycamore Streets cost $1 per hour, or you may park in one of our parking garages for $2 per hour (or up to $10 per day). The Parking Garages take all credit and debit cards, and are located at Highland Street and Avenue A; and, at Union Circle and Welch St.

Students, Faculty, and Staff of UNT may also purchase an annual parking permit that is valid for each academic year, and may be purchased online at www.unt.edu/transit. A Permit is required to park on UNT’s Campus.

Where is the UNT Parking office located?

The entrance to the garage is located at 620 Central Avenue, Denton, Texas, 76201. Please take the elevator or stairs to the first floor of the Highland Street Parking Garage, the entrance to the Parking Office on the west side of the garage directly across from the Business Leadership Building.


When is the UNT Parking office open?

The normal office hours are from 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.


Do you have a map of UNT’s Campus?

Where are parking meters located on campus?

Please refer to the Map of Campus located at http://www.unt.edu/transit/maps.html. The meters are indicated by Black Diamonds, as noted in the Map Legend. Campus meters are located on Highland Street and West Sycamore Street.


How do the Parking Garages work?

UNT has two public parking garages, Highland Street Garage and Union Circle Garage. Garage parking is 2.00 per hour, or 10.00 per day. Students and Faculty and Staff may purchase a Garage Pass for the semester or the year at the UNT Parking office.


What do I do if I’m driving a rental car?

If you own a UNT Parking Permit, you can transfer the permit from your regular vehicle to the rental car; the sticker is made to move from one vehicle to another. If you do not have a UNT parking permit, you will need to purchase a temporary day pass from the UNT Parking office, or pay to park at an hourly parking meter or in one of the parking garages.


Can I move my permit between vehicles?

If you own a UNT Parking Permit, you can transfer the permit from your regular vehicle to another vehicle you own; the sticker is made to move from one vehicle to another. You will need to register your second/other vehicle at www.unt.edu/transit , click on “manage my account” and then “add a vehicle”.

How do I register a second vehicle?

If you have two or more vehicles you will be driving to campus, you will need to register your second/other vehicle at www.unt.edu/transit. Click on- “manage my account” and then “add a vehicle”.

Where do I go if I get a citation? What are my options?

If you receive a citation, you may pay or appeal the citation online at www.unt.edu/transit.

My permit hasn’t come in the mail, and my temporary Permit has expired, what do I do?

Please bring your student ID to the UNT Parking office, located on the first floor of the Highland Street Parking Garage, the entrance to the Parking Office is on the west side of the garage directly across from the Business Leadership Building. We will be able to help you get a replacement permit. Please park in the Highland Street Parking Garage, will validate your parking.


I cannot purchase a permit online, what do I do?

Please bring your student, Faculty, or Staff ID to the UNT Parking office, located on the first floor of the Highland Street Parking Garage, just east of the Business Leadership Building. Please park in the Highland Street Parking Garage, will validate your parking.
