Costumed Interpretation
Use hands-on teaching methods to interact with visitors in period costume at Jamestown Settlement.

and Yorktown Victory Center.
Special SOL-related interactive programs in each museum living history area.
Coursework
Interpretive theory and methods.
17th- and 18th-century historical content (Jamestown history, Powhatan Indians, English, African, American Revolution).
Field trips to nearby related historic sites.
Practical Application
Lesson plan development.
Receive a reproduction artifact kit and teaching resources.
Presentation and demonstration of new skills.

The 2013 institute will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday, July 7 and end at 2 p.m., Friday, July 12. Participants are actively engaged in both indoor and outdoor activities from around 7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day of the institute. Get ready for an action-packed adventure!
