Personnel Data: The Missing Part of the Puzzle
Lavan Dukes, Florida Department of Education
The historical focus of the development of longitudinal systems has been an extensive development of student systems. National organizations and agencies have spent and will continue to spend many dollars on the analysis of student systems and student outcomes. However, the missing part of the puzzle is a focus on personnel in school districts and states. This session will make a proposal for a state-based personnel system involving extensive demographic, compensation, certification, and training information about staff which can link to longitudinal student systems and support the improvement of instruction for students.
