Chemical/Biochemical Research

Through theoretical and experimental programs, NRL researchers determine the scientific origins of materials behavior and develop ways to modify these materials for advanced naval platforms, electronics, sensors, and photonics. Chemical and biochemical research at NRL is also performed to understand and reduce the effects of the marine environment on naval systems.
