How We Work
The NERRS Science Collaborative operates through the integration of three program components:
Funding program: The Science Collaborative administers an annual Request for Proposals (RFP) that awards an average of $4 million annually to projects that incorporate collaboration and applied science to address a coastal management problem that has been identified as a priority for a Reserve and a community that it serves.
Transfer of knowledge: The Science Collaborative is dedicated to sharing information about the science it funds throughout the Reserve System and the broader coastal management community.
Graduate education: The Science Collaborative works through the University of New Hampshire (UNH) to provide training in the skills needed to effectively link science to coastal management decisions.
