Fort Campbell Schools

Accreditation
All eight Fort Campbell schools are fully accredited (by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, SACS), and have been since each of their openings.
In 2006 the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), the North Central Association Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) began the process of unification as AdvancEd.
In 2007 DoDEA determined that all of the schools under its direction would move toward accreditation under NCA, which historically accredited schools in the Virginia and Maryland area. Wassom Middle School, Mahaffey Middle School, and Fort Campbell High School took their first steps toward NCA accreditation with successful visits from Quality Assurance Teams this year. They have been recommended for full accreditation; to be effective next school year. The five elementary schools are scheduled for Quality Assurance visits next school year. Until the new NCA accreditation takes effect, the schools maintain their accreditation through SACS.
