Q & A
* Question(s)? Why do some AR Div offices and other HQMC offices get to have their front doors open, while others have to be closed all the time. Aren't we the customer service Division? Why can't our customers walk into our front offices and get welcomed by a friendly helpful face? Why do some offices get to have their front door open some days while the next you have to be buzzed in? Can we show some consistency please?
* Answer: ARS Security Branch response: Offices that have been designated as Open Storage Secret must be safeguarded for the protection of the National Security Information. Part of the protections is to ensure unauthorized personnel do not have access to the classified information. Not only physically but electronically to include conversations. As such the doors are to be closed for obvious reasons. However if no classified information is processed in the office space the decision to keep the door open rests with the branch head or director. SECNAVMAN 5510.30 and SECNAVMAN 5510.36 and the DON USMC IA PUB of 2008 applies.
