Student Internship Program
The goal of our college student internship program is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with a meaningful educational experience that will be beneficial to both students and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
This internship is designed to provide exposure to the archival profession. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with original historical documents and photographs, learning archival principals and practice while also increasing their research skills.
Duties assigned will involve basic archival functions: arrangement, description and preservation. Interns may also work on various digitization initiatives. Applicants should have solid research skills, good organizational skills, be detail oriented and able to communicate effectively. In addition, interns need to have good computer skills, be able to work independently as well as in a group environment and be able to accept supervision.
Students are required to commit to a minimum of 120 hours during the term of their internship, working from 15-20 hours per week. Internships are voluntary and unpaid by the library. Interns may set a flexible work schedule within normal business hours which are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Overall qualifications for interns include:
Currently enrolled (or accepted for enrollment) in a graduate or undergraduate degree program
U. S. citizenship
Selected interns will be required to complete a signed internship agreement and a undergo background check.
