Renew books; see what you have checked out or on hold

You can access your circulation record through the library catalog.

  • Go to the library catalog and click on Login to My Account at the upper right of the screen. Use your LANL Z# and cryptocard to login.

  • Click on View my account / Renew (upper right) to see your list of items on loan, with due dates and call numbers.

  • Click on Renew all to renew all items.
    OR
Click on checkbox next to individual items and click on Renew Selected.
The new due date(s) will be displayed.

A book may be renewed, as long as it does not have a hold on it, each time for four-week period.

  • Hold requests shows a list of items you have requested, and you can cancel any holds no longer needed (to cancel a hold, click on the line number at the left and use the Delete button).

Note: Account Summary & Preferences lets you change settings for OPAC displays.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why can't I renew my books online?

If you received a Suspension notice in the mail or via email, you will not be able to renew your books online. Your library privileges are automatically suspended and an "administrative hold" or "block" is added to your circulation record. To restore your library privileges, send email to circmail@lanl.gov and ask to renew all items checked out to you. Library staff will notify you once your borrowing privileges have been restored.

Items requested by other Library users will not be renewed and must be returned before your privileges can be restored.

2. Why were my borrowing privileges suspended if I never received overdue notices?

Overdue notices are sent via email. The third and last notice sent is a Suspension notice that automatically adds an "administrative hold" or blocks your borrowing privileges. If you use a spam filter with your email application, emailed overdue notices sent by the Library may have ended up in a "Junk" folder or in the LANL quarantine. To insure that you are properly receiving overdue notices, add library@lanl.gov to the list of accepted senders in your email application.
