Remote Access
Use the Research Library's resources from offsite, home or on travel
Using Remote Access
- Go to the Research Library homepage at http://library.lanl.gov
- Click on
- Enter your Z number and Passcode (from your Cryptocard)
- Once authenticated, you'll be redirected back to the Research Library home page.
- You now have access to the Library's licensed electronic resources — journals, books and databases — as if you were on site.
- The Remote Access service will time out, or you may log out here.
Remote Access special cases
- The following LANL-only databases require SSL-portal. Log into ssl-portal and go to the indicated URL:
Los Alamos Authors database lasearch.lanl.gov
LDRD Connexion ldrdconnexion.lanl.gov
Review & Approval (RASSTI) review.lanl.gov
- For SciFinder, use this SciFinder link for remote access to resources via a SciFinder account.
- To use a DOI, use this DOI website link, and enter the DOI Name (e.g., 10.1000/182).
Note: This is an alternate method of reaching electronic resources. Not everything in the DOI system is covered by LANL subscriptions, so you may or may not get to full text.
- To request or renew books in the Library Catalog, you must Login to MyAccount within the catalog.
- To access ebooks in EBook Library (EBL), a separate EBL login is required when you click on the ebook link.
Troubleshooting
While logged on to Remote Access, the URL displayed in your browser location bar should contain ezproxy.lanl.gov. If not, then you've followed a link out of the proxy. Most of the time, you can just back up to a proxied page.
If this doesn't work,
- Try reconnecting to Remote Access
- Relaunch your browser
- Clear your browser cache
If specific resources don't allow access, there may be a problem unrelated to Remote Access. If the problem persists, please contact the library eservice team, or call the Library's Service Desk at 505-667-5809.
