Clinical Information CE/CME for HIV/AIDS
One of the IHS HIV/AIDS program objectives is to assist our health professionals maintain HIV/AIDS competency and high quality care. Disease specific competence (as well as culturally appropriate care) is a critical component of overall strategic planning to support this quality of care. Locating and completing HIV/AIDS specific CE/CME is very beneficial, not only to maintain licensure, but also as one tool to maintain this particular level of care. It can also be used by multiple health professionals that desire an increased level of awareness and knowledge of HIV/AIDS clinical topics and issues. This will help raise the bar of overall care delivered within our system to those with HIV/AIDS and to those at risk. Each of the links listed below usually offers free CE/CME on HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS related topics. To receive CME/CE credit, select one of the links and follow instructions to complete the accredited CE/CME.
Go to left hand menu and click on CE/CME Central tab. This site contains free CE/CME. Register using your email and create a password. Once you have done this, you may access the CE/CME available. Massive website contains a vast amount of clinical information, conference coverage, slide sets, clinical updates, message boards, CE/CME as well as many other useful resources.
Go to participant services and click on ‘New Participant’. This will allow you to register. Once registered you can search the database using keyword ‘HIV’ or ‘AIDS’. This will bring you to a number of satellite broadcasts, Web on Demand services and CD-Roms available. If you have Windows media player, the broadcasts can be downloaded and CE/CME obtained. This site has free CE/CME on multiple health topics (not just HIV/AIDS). However, most of the time, there are HIV/AIDS topics within the database.
