Response to Polio Outbreak Threat

In response to the polio outbreak in Central Asia particularly in Tajikistan in 2010, USAID supports the Ministry of Health’s vaccination efforts and the surveillance costs for the outbreak response activities. Operations costs include staffing, training and meetings, supplies and equipment, transportation and running costs. Surveillance funding ensures the strengthening of standard surveillance in the country including active surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, coordination capacity and technical assistance.
