Security Levels
Providing Credentials to Mariners
Here you will find information in regards to modifying or removing of limitations or scope of your credential such as changes in horsepower, tonnage limitations, or geographic route restrictions. You may be required to meet certain qualifications which may include drug testing, sea service, training, practical demonstration, and possibly exams. Always review the Code of Federal Regulations to ensure you are meeting those requirements.

Please review the checklist to ensure that you do not miss or leave anything out of your application. Your application must be submitted (mailed) to a Regional Exam Center (REC) and not to the National Maritime Center.
Payment
We highly recommended that you use Pay.Gov - Credit Card Payment Form in order to pay for your Duplicate credential. It is fast, safe, and reliable method of payment. See Title 46 CFR 10.219.
