The U.S. Army Signal Corps Band

The United States Army Signal Corps Band, headquartered at Fort Gordon, Georgia, serves as a musical outreach asset for the U.S. Army Signal Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon

The 40 member ensemble performs numerous concerts and ceremonies in support of local and regional events, including festivals, inaugurations, and both city and state commemorations.  The Band's smaller ensembles frequently travel, both within the Central Savannah River Area, and throughout the United States, in support of the Commanding General's public outreach program.  The Band also serves as the primary ceremonial unit assigned to Fort Gordon, providing ceremonial and musical support for a wide variety of signal Center ceremonies, graduations, and formal military functions.

The Mission of U.S. Army Bands
"Army Bands provide music throughout the spectrum of military operations
to instill in our soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens,
and promote our national interests at home and abroad."

Are you a musician with college level musical training or professional performing experience?

Are you interested in a full-time performing gig with great benefits for you and your family, including a steady paycheck, 30 days of paid vacation every year, quality housing and free health insurance?

Do you want to further your education, such as completing your bachelors degree, or earning a masters degree, for little to no cost?

Are you interested in earning a pension after only 20 years of service, giving you the opportunity and financial security to comfortably move on to a new job in music or start a second career?

Do you want to have all this, as well as the pride and respect that comes with serving your country?

If any of these benefits appeal to you, call the Signal Corps Band today.  You can ask questions about Army Bands, set up a time to sit in during one of our rehearsals, or even schedule an audition.  You can get additional in depth information on Army Bands at Army Bands Online, where you can also schedule an audition by filling out the Audition Sign-up Form.  Auditions for the Signal Corps Band, or any other Army Band, may be scheduled at the candidate's convenience.  Auditions are open to all qualified candidates, and in no way obligate you to join the Army.

Following the audition, candidates will receive feedback on their performance, an overview of the Army Band Program, and information about current openings.  Candidates will also have the opportunity to meet with current Army Band members and get a better understanding of the daily life of an Army musician.

Qualified musicians have their choice of assignment (based upon audition results and available openings).  The U.S. Army currently employs over 5,000 musicians throughout the United States, as well as numerous overseas locations, including Germany, Belgium, Japan, and Korea.

For more information about the Army Band Program, including a list of frequently asked questions, go to the Army Bands Online Careers Page.  Information is also available at the Army Bands section of the GoArmy.com website.
