The U.S. Army Signal Corps Band

The United States Army Signal Corps Band, headquartered at Fort Gordon, Georgia, serves as a musical outreach asset for the U.S. Army Signal Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon

The 40 member ensemble performs numerous concerts and ceremonies in support of local and regional events, including festivals, inaugurations, and both city and state commemorations.  The Band's smaller ensembles frequently travel, both within the Central Savannah River Area, and throughout the United States, in support of the Commanding General's public outreach program.  The Band also serves as the primary ceremonial unit assigned to Fort Gordon, providing ceremonial and musical support for a wide variety of signal Center ceremonies, graduations, and formal military functions.

 

Chamber Ensembles

Signal Distortion

Performing for civilian audiences throughout the United States, Signal Distortion is the primary recruiting ensemble for the Signal Corps Band.

The group's nine members perform a wide variety of popular tunes from singers and groups such as Jay-Z, Evanescence, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fergie. 

The sheer energy of Signal Distortion's concerts never fails to overwhelm audiences, and you can always count the group to bring down the house!

 

 

 

The Crooked River Dixieland Band

The Crooked River Dixieland Band is a six member ensemble that performs old style New Orleans Dixieland

This truly American form of music has survived for more than a century and continues to delight audiences today. 

Year after year, the Crooked River Dixieland Band brings a taste of New Orleans to Georgians, and the rest of the southeastern United States.

 

 

 

The Garden City Brass Quintet

The Garden City Brass Quintet is one of the most versatile small ensembles of the Signal Corps Band.

With a repertoire spanning five centuries, they are at home performing everything from Renaissance and Baroque music, to jazz, popular music, marches and patriotic selections. 

The ensemble performs frequently for civilian and military audiences throughout the southeastern region of the United States.

 

 

 

 

The Woodwind Quintet

The Signal Corps Band Woodwind Quintet performs recitals and presents clinics in elementary, middle, and high schools, and colleges throughout the nation.

Dedicated to advancing woodwind quintet music through performance, the group covers a wide range of repertoire, from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Semifours Trombone Quartet

The Trombone Quartet performs a wide range of repertoire including transcriptions, standard trombone quartet literature, jazz and popular arrangements, and contemporary and avant-garde music.

The ensemble seeks to present a program that displays the numerous stylistic and musical capabilities of the trombone.

 

 

 

 

The Jazz Combo

Comprised of some of the finest soloists within the Signal Corps Band, the Jazz Combo brings to life the music of America’s great songwriters and composers.

Names like Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk and Johnny Mercer highlight the repertoire of this versatile group of musicians. 

This group has the flexibility to perform in a wide variety of settings, including large music festivals, intimate social and cultural functions, and colleges and schools.  Its book covers a wide variety of music, including traditional Jazz, funk, bebop, contemporary sounds, and salsa.
