125th Fighter Wing

The 125th Fighter Wing provides emergency relief and counter-drug enforcement to those, both stateside and overseas, affected by devastating natural disasters. It also provides fully trained wing personnel and combat ready F-15 Air Superiority fighters to the United States Air Force for contingency operations worldwide in the Aerospace Expeditionary Force construct. The 125th provides fully trained and qualified personnel in time of war or national emergency for the defense of the North American continent. It is also available to other combatant commanders for forward deployment in order to perform air superiority/air dominance missions in other theaters outside of the United States.

<p>How would you like to be the first to test the latest prototype weapons system in the militaryYou might get a chance to do just that in a career in Aircraft Armament Systems. As an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, you'll operationally check and electrically test aircraft weapons release and gun systems, drive bomb lift trucks, and control many different types of test equipment and gauges, doing repairs as needed. <p>The safety and security of the people, property and resources of the Air National Guard is the sole mission of Security Forces. A career as a Security Forces Specialist requires extensive training in law enforcement and combat tactics since you'll work both stateside on bases and overseas where you'll often patrol off base. In this role, you'll ensure the safety of all base weapons, property and personnel from hostile forces, conduct investigations into any on-base incidents, apprehend and detain suspects, secure crime scenes and testify in judicial proceedings. You will also be involved in team patrol movements, tactical drills, battle procedures and military operations other than war. <p>Experience an exciting career in the Air National Guard as a Munitions Systems Specialist. Handling high-explosive incendiary rounds, nuclear weapons and a vast array of bombs is all in a day's work for these well-trained professionals. As a Munitions System Specialist, you'll work with weapons systems of every kind on a variety of aircraft. You'll learn to identify munitions by filler, color code, marking, or physical characteristics, demilitarize nonhazardous munitions, and operate munitions materiel handling equipment. <p>When your primary mission is in the clouds more than on land, the weather plays a huge part in mission success. It's the Weather Officer's job to keep a constant watch over one of the greatest threats to the safety of Air Guard pilots and aircrew. In this job, you'll analyze weather conditions, prepare forecasts, issue weather warnings and brief weather information to pilots. You'll learn to read and interpret weather satellite imagery, climatology reports, computerized weather prediction models and Doppler weather radar imagery. You'll also operate a weather radar console and a high-frequency pilot-to-metro radio, as well as analyze and forecast weather elements such as clouds, visibility, winds, atmospheric pressure and many other parameters.</p> Weather Officer
