- Combined Federal Campaign
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the largest workplace charity campaign in the United States and the only campaign authorized to solicit and collect contributions from federal employees in the workplace on behalf of charitable organizations. The Volpe Center is a leader in the Massachusetts Bay area, winning a CFC Hall of Fame award for outstanding Center-wide participation and contributions.

- Toys for Kids
The Volpe Center participates in the annual U.S. Boston Police Department's Toys for Kids program. The mission of the toy drive is to collect new, unwrapped toys during the holiday season and distribute those toys as gifts to needy children.

Feds Feed Families is a Nationwide, Government-wide summer food drive led by the Office of Personnel Management in partnership with the Chief Human Capital Officers Council. The purpose of the program is to collect food from Federal employees and distribute it to food banks across the country. During the summer of 2009, the Volpe Center contributed food to three local non-profit organizations, the Margaret Fuller House, East End House, and Food for Free Committee, Inc.
- Generous Donations of Surplus Equipment, Furniture Donations, and Clothing
Reuse has also become a big part of the Volpe Center's operations. The Volpe Center recently donated 5 tons of items to local charities. The Volpe Center has donated available surplus equipment and office furniture to the following nonprofit organizations and institutions:- Community Action Agency of Somerville, Inc.
