The NCBI Trace Archive is a permanent repository of DNA sequence chromatograms (traces), base calls, and quality estimates for single-pass reads from various large-scale sequencing projects.

Submitting tips: describes how to prepare and load new and update submissions.
Submission formats: Trace Archive currently accepts data in the following formats:
- SFF (new): Standard Flowgram Format.
- SCF: standard file format for data from DNA sequencing instruments.
- ZTR:the ZTR format is used for storing analogue chromotogram data from DNA sequencing instruments.
- ABI: an ABI-tracefile is a binary file including the tracedata and the sequence.
Assembly Archive: links the raw sequence information found in the Trace Archive with assembly information found in publicly available sequence repositories (GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ).
