139th Airlift Wing

The 139th Airlift Wing, located at St. Joseph Air National Guard Base, Missouri, remains globally engaged in continuing operations by providing the state and nation with immediately deployable, combat ready C-130 H model aircraft. The wing also provides assistance to the other branches by aiding them with transport, training, and medical assistance. The 139th Airlift Wing has its roots in the formation of the 180th Bombardment Squadron, which was one of the first federally recognized Air National Guard units in the nation.

<p>Whether it's at your local Air Guard unit or in a temporary disaster relief facility, electricity is vital to Air Guard operations. As an Electrical Power Production Specialist, it'll be your job to get it there and to keep the power supply fully functional. You'll undergo extensive training and become a highly skilled expert in your field training that directly transfers into the civilian world, and can be used to start a career as an electrician outside of the Air Guard.</p><p>Electrical Power Production Specialists are specially trained in:</p><ul><li>Principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization</li><li>Types, capacity, and purpose of high and low voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and distribution</li><li>Interpreting instrument and meter readings</li><li>Wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical publications</li><li>Techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment</li><li>Repair and maintenance of aircraft arresting systems</li><li>Use and purpose of test equipment</li><li>Safety rules and practices</li><li>Environmental policies</li><li>Principles of management</li><li>Operation and repair of electrical power production systems</li><li>Must have normal color vision</li></ul> Electrical Power Production

<p>As a Ground Radar Systems Specialist, you'll be in charge of the sophisticated systems that help safely manage air traffic. You'll install, maintain, and repair fixed or mobile air traffic control, weather, ground aircraft control and warning radar systems, related radar operator training devices, aircraft identification equipment, removing systems, video mappers, computerized processors, and communications subsystems. Being a Ground Radar Systems Specialist is a demanding but exciting job that requires high-level skills and continual training as new technology becomes available.  </p><p>Ground Radar Systems Specialists are specially trained in:</p><ul><li>Electronic principles and digital techniques, including transistors and solid-state component theory that applies to ground radar systems</li><li>Maintenance data processing systems</li><li>Wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, schematic diagrams and technical orders</li><li>Air Force maintenance and supply procedures</li><li>Must maintain Secret security clearance</li><li>Normal color vision</li></ul> Ground Radar Systems

<p>As a Mobility Pilot, you'll master all aspects of advanced aviation and use those skills to fly C-130 Hercules aircraft, transporting everything from cargo to passengers to destinations all over the world. In this role, you'll perform navigation, in-flight refueling, and cargo and passenger delivery. You'll plan and prepare for missions; review mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information; and brief your crew.  You'll ensure your aircraft is preflighted, inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for mission. It'll be your job to make sure everything and everyone gets to their destination on time.</p> Mobility Pilot
