The primary focus of the Integrated EW Simulation Branch is to conduct a multifaceted simulation program to advance U.S. Navy RDT&E. Under OPNAV sponsorship, the Branch provides for the research, development, operation and maintenance of RF anti-ship missile (ASM) simulators, a large hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation facility (known as the Central Target Simulator or CTS) and specially-equipped aircraft to conduct ASM simulation RDT&E in an at-sea environment. These assets directly support the effectiveness evaluation of current and postulated future EW systems and techniques in the RF domain. The Branch also includes a Special Projects Section, which conducts engineering investigations and performs analysis of military hardware in support of threat simulator and electronic countermeasure developments.
