Why Do I Need a Flu Vaccine Every Year?
A flu vaccine is needed every year because flu viruses are constantly changing. It's not unusual for new flu viruses to appear each year. The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with the flu viruses as they change.
Also, multiple studies conducted over different seasons and across vaccine types and influenza virus subtypes have shown that the body's immunity to influenza viruses (acquired either through natural infection or vaccination) declines over time.
Getting vaccinated each year provides the best protection against influenza throughout flu season.

TRICARE SERVICE CENTER (TSC)

One stop location for enrollments, registration, eligibility, benefits counseling, host nation consult processing, host nation appointments, patient liaison services, debt collection and billing assistance.

International SOS is responsible for issuing authorizations for Active Duty and Active Duty Family Members. Typical wait time for routine (normal) consults can be up to 10 working days. Visit the TRICARE Referral Office at least 7 days after your referring appointment to ensure your authorization is ready.

Retirees and DoD Civilians do not require pre-authorization from ISOS for most consults and may visit the TRICARE Referral Office at their earliest convenience. However, if you have questions, check with the TSC. These patients may have to pay the provider up front and be re-imbursed by TRICARE or their health insurance. The TSC can give you more information.

All TRICARE enrollments or disenrollments or changes are handled in the TSC during normal hours.

As able, the TSC always assists non TRICARE beneficiaries that are eligible to be seen at the Livorno Health Clinic. The liaison and translation services, in particular, are usually but not always available to non-TRICARE beneficiaries.
