Why Do I Need a Flu Vaccine Every Year?
A flu vaccine is needed every year because flu viruses are constantly changing. It's not unusual for new flu viruses to appear each year. The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with the flu viruses as they change.
Also, multiple studies conducted over different seasons and across vaccine types and influenza virus subtypes have shown that the body's immunity to influenza viruses (acquired either through natural infection or vaccination) declines over time.
Getting vaccinated each year provides the best protection against influenza throughout flu season.

Laboratory

Hours:
Monday-Wednesday & Friday Open from 0800-1200 and from 1300-1630.
Thursday Open from 1300-1630 only.
Lab is closed on all American holidays.

Services Provided:
The laboratory performs testing on blood and other body fluids, providing physicians with information required for diagnosing diseases and monitoring patient treatments. Specimens for testing are collected by laboratory or clinic personnel.

Almost any test can be collected, however only basic testing is done locally. The remaining studies are forwarded to Germany and the US and thus may take a few days for results to return. Results of laboratory tests are reported to your health care provider via the clinic computer system. The lab can not provide results directly to patients. If you would like your results, send us a secure message or leave a telephone message.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding information about a test (i.e. should I be fasting, how long should I wait for lab results, etc.) you may contact the lab directly through the front desk.
